Routes

Alaska offers a variety of cruise routes, but by far the most popular is the Inside Passage. This route follows Alaska’s southern coastline that stretches alongside Canada and even into Washington state. As you sail through the Inside Passage, you’ll encounter breathtaking sights like majestic fjords, pristine glaciers, lush forests, and waterfalls cascading down the magnificent Alaskan mountains. From the ship’s deck, watch for whales, dolphins, and sea lions swimming by, and on land, keep an eye out for bears, eagles, and puffins.

Another incredible experience is the Cross Gulf of Alaska route, which runs one-way between Anchorage and Vancouver or Seattle. This extended route includes many highlights of the Inner Passage journey while going even further north to showcase College Fjord, Hubbard Glacier, and Prince William Sound. At Prince William Sound, you’ll even have the chance to see Humpback and Orca whales, sea otters, porpoises, and tons of other wildlife!

Best Times to Visit

Alaska’s cruise season runs from May to September, with August being the peak month for the best experience. During this time, temperatures reach comfortable highs in the mid-60s, and the sun shines for nearly 15 hours a day! June and July are also great options, with slightly cooler temperatures and fewer crowds than August, making them ideal for a quieter visit. If wildlife is your priority, August is the prime month for viewing bears fishing for salmon and for spotting bald eagles along the salmon-filled streams.
