Resort Overview
The resort is in an excellent position, high up and overlooking the coast and the old town and marina of Tropea, and the Gulf of Santa Eufemia and the Aeolian Islands.On clear days you can see the volcanic island of Stromboli. Tropea is a seaside resort with impressive scenery in the region of Calabria, in the south of Italy. This stretch of coastline on the Tyrrhenian Sea is called the Costa degli Dei, the 'Coast of the Gods', and it is hugely admired by those in the know as one of Italy's finest summer holiday destinations. The coastline curves outwards in a large hilly bulge, boasting dramatic cliffs, sunny beaches. Tropea is the busiest and most attractive of these seaside towns; with a historic centre perched on cliffs above the sea. Olivara is the ideal starting point for excursions to the Aeolian Islands and along the Coast of the Gods. Local towns of Taormina, Reggio Calabria, Pizzo Calabro are all accessible by local bus. There are many historic sites in the vacinity including a wonderful Norman Castle and ancient caves and the lovely old town of Tropea, full of little alleyways and anciant piazzas is a great place to wander if you need a break from the sun, sand and sea. The lovely resort of Villaggio is set around large landscaped gardens and open spaces, joined by lovely paths bowers and archways, planted with flowers and shrubs of every kind. The apartments are a mixture of studios for 2 adults + a child, one bedroom units sleeping 4 people with a balcony; and 2 bedroom units sleeping six with a double room, bunk room and sofa beds in the lounge. All the units are equipped with air conditioning, they are well furnished and equipped, kitchenette including a hob, fridge and microwave, telephone, color TV LED HD, a bathroom with shower, hairdryer and safe. Shuttle-bus from Olivara to beach every 30 minutes from 8:00am to 8:00pm. Free Internet access with a dedicated location, WI FI throughout the service area, bar, two restaurants (table service and self- service),mini market, swimming pool for adults and children. There are extensive sports facilities for the enjoyment of tennis, basketball, beach volleyball, bowling green and field archery and a playground for childre. There is free parking on site and also laundry room with coin-running washing machines and dryers.
